Explore Loudoun
Waterford–Hamilton–Lovettsville–Round Hill
The quiet northern loop between Waterford’s National Historic Landmark village, Hamilton, Lovettsville’s German-settled farmland, and Round Hill rewards visitors who like their wine country uncrowded. The Barns at Hamilton Station pours award-winning wines in a restored 1910 dairy barn; Creek’s Edge and Hiddencroft hide along gravel roads near the Potomac; The Wine Reserve at Waterford adds a polished tasting-bar experience. Wheatland Spring Farm + Brewery — a national “Land Beer” standout growing its own grain — and Flying Ace’s combination farm brewery and distillery give the loop serious beer credentials, while Corcoran pours ciders from one of Loudoun’s founding wine families. Stops are spread farther apart here than in other clusters, so pick two or three, take the back roads slowly, and enjoy the county as it looked a century ago.
